Default Depreciation

Why is the depreciation so bad on the s2000? After the first year it depreciates about $10,100!!!

i bought my 06 in april 2006 (32,000) and come september 06 the stealership only offered me 23,000 for it. 9,000 difference. but of course no stealership is gonna sell you an s2000 for that price

Initial depreciation is pretty huge, but it doesn't continue at that same rate for the entire car's life. Perhaps it deals with it being a convertible?

...zero regrets about not buying a new car over here.

No offense...but there were some folks buying new 06s for $28-29k especially by Sept 06.

Hardly, it depends on how well you did when you bought the car initially. Leftover 2007's are being picked up today for about 26,500 so if you paid 32K last year you obviously are not looking good right now. ANY car is going to depreciate a ton the first year(or as soon as you drive off the lot). The figure you quoted must be someone who paid well over $30K. Never a good move to try and trade within the first 1-2 yrs of ownership.

why don't we compare with the depreciation on AMGs. its 1 year depreciation is probably worth more than an s2000.
