Eversince I saw the story/pictures that Road & Track did back in 98" on the S2000, I knew I was hooked. I promised myself that once I got settled down with this Army thing, I would get one. It is the only car that I really wouldn't carewhat color I got it in...it is that impressive. About 4 months ago I contacted the dealer that I am going to buy my stook from. I have an awsome contract with him: For $200 US dollars, he would hold the car for me untill March 31st, 2001. What a deal! But, eversince then, I have been obsessing about the car. My wife has had to hear me rant and rave about the car day-in/day-out. She is a good sport. I think she will be even happier than me when I finally get my Stook. I can't wait to get my car properly broken in, and experiance what all of you other stook owners have been experiancing. I had the chance to drive a 95" Vette Conv. for a year before I joined the service. I know how exciting it was to drive that car, I can only imagine what it is like to drive the S2000! I am so stoked about getting this car, that I am afraid I might have to take a pill upon pick-up! I am interested in knowing if any of ya'll ever felt like this?

I wanted this car very badly but was waffling because of the price, the impractical aspect of a convertible in the Northeast and my hesitancy of buying a car in it's frist model year. As it turned out someone knew someone else and I could get the car at sticker but had to make a decision right a way. Well I did it despite my concerns and I am glad I did.

Think 220 Volts AC, add in alittle Nitromethane, followed up by a smiggen chili patine, finished off by a dash of C-4 and POOF your there!

Your going to enjoy the automobile! Valium ain't gonna take care of this one!

I hear you man. I wanted the S2000 ever since it came out, but I'm glad i'm waiting a while longer. I'm sorta glad I didn't get it when it first came out.

I hope everything is fixed when I finally get mine. For instance, the 1-2 grind, seatbelt, and other minor issues.

Some of us are hardcore and started to follow the car when it was a prototype in like '95-'96. I need to dig up the old magazines and conjure up old memories....

I was exactly like you before I bought the car, and in CA, every dealer marks up at least 5-6k, even for used ones. My girlfriend used hear me talking and ranting about the car for two months before I actually got one and she said I thought about the car more than I thought about her But after two months of searching, I found a new one for 32500 and bought it on the spot. Had to wait a week to pick up the car, longest week of my life. The day I was able to finally get the car, was the first time I ever even got to drive one. Man I tell you, it was like being on a natural high, I couldn't stop shaking for at least two days after I got the car. Every time I sat in it, I'd get this euphoric feeling like you wouldn't believe. This was my first new car ever, and to get what I had only dreamed of a year ago was sensational. I've been a car freak since I was 16 and to finally get a car that I really really wanted blew my mind. Now after three weeks with the stook, I still love it, and I'm sure you will too. The car is tight, you won't regret it.

I know exactly those feelings. I first saw information on the car in 95 and had been on the hunt for information ever since. I had to wait a year for my car and picked it up a year last September.

I had never obsessed over a car before and cannot explain it really.

Still who cares, outside my window is my S2000 - And tomorrow will be dry and sunny...

S.

Oh yeah, I forgot mention my g/f's thoughts about me getting an S2000 in my first post.

My g/f is also against me buying the S2000. I already bought a new car 2 years ago, so she keeps on saying that my current car is still new. She's not a car nut, so she doesn't understand the need and desire to have one.

Everytime we see an S2000, I point it out and tell her I'm going to get it. She just gives me the "whatever" eyes.

But I understand where she is coming from, so I will compromise.

That's why I'm not getting an S2000 now. I plan on getting an S2000 later on in the year.

My wife was the first between us to spot the stook in Road & Track over two years ago. When she showed it to me I began to lust for it right then and there. I bought a new Accord EX in '99 so my wife questioned the wisdom of getting another new car in 2000; however, her '98 Accord's transmission went South, she inherited my Accord and I got the stook. Karma?
