Default Did the S2000 get bad reviews down in Australia?

I was looking at the usenet news group aus.cars and came across this thread about the "350Z (and how it compares to the S2000)" and someone mentioned the S2000's handling is bad. A snippet of the thread went like this:

"ABC" <ABC@DEF.COM> wrote in message
news:zfQs9.9288$DP6.30281@news-server.bigpond.net.au...
> I haven't seen one review of the S2000 saying it handled like shit. All said
> it handles superbly.
>

Perhaps you should re-read them...

Most reports I have read (here and overseas) seem rather unimpressed by the
first series S2000's handling.

So did the S2000 get some bad reviews down under? Anyone from AU care to comment on the reviews given to the S2000 by the magazines down there?

Are you kidding, they raved about the S2000 in Aus; some of the writer's even bought them.

No, all the local reports on handling were excellent.

Yep, no complaints in Aus to the best of my knowledge. then again, we're used to Foulcans and Commondores.

Thanks, that's what I thought as well because the S has been getting great reviews here in the States, Europe, and of course, Japan. If anyone from AU can post to the usenet, can you post a follow-up to Richard Fay's message (the link is above) to set him straight on the handling of the S2000. I just hate to see his blanket, unsubstantiated statement that the S "handled like shit" was the last word on the subject. It would be great if you can point to specific reviews published in AU about the S as well. Thanks.

Here's a review from drive.com.au which is a popular publication in Aus.
http://drive.fairfax.com.au/cgi-bin/drive2...querytext=s2000

Snippet:
"VERDICT: If the S2000 doesn't win every car award this year, the judges should pack up and go home."

I wouldn't say that it ever got a bad review but most major motoring magazines have been somewhat critical of it's handling. They seem to find that it gets upset/twitchy on less than perfect surfaces.

I agree.

Australian motoring journalists are piss poor drivers.

They do not know the meaning of launch and clutch dump.
They get sh!t times because they roll off idle or do a mid RPM clutch slip.
