Ok, im sure this has been asked before but the only real diff i care about is the wheels and the engine diff between the 2000-2003 and the 2004 on.

I have yet to buy myself an S but im dying to get one. I have enough for an older one, but if i want an '04 ill have to save. Is that additional .2L that big of a deal? Or is an older model say... a 2000 just as nice?

Basically my questions is what is the best S for my buck?

00-03 has a 9K redline, 04+ has a 8.3K redline

 

engine, tranny, suspension, etc.

 

This has probably been discussed many times, and I think you can find it in the library. Some of the things off hand are the engine stroked to 2.2L, giving it more torque but it loses the 9k RPM redline. The wheels are 17's opposed to the Ap1 (00-03)'s 16's. Some interior things are changed as well I believe. Also, the suspension was changed (softened up a bit I believe).

so you all like the Ap1 ( what is Ap1 mean) more than the '04+?

 

AP1 (9k Redline, 2,0L)= Years 00-03
00-01 Has a rear plastic window
02-03 Has a glass rear window

AP2 (8k redline, 2.2L)= Years 04 and up

 

Newer S's has become much more refined. So if you're looking for something extremely uncompromising, go with the older models (AP1).
