Default difference between 2005 model and the rest?

Hi, I am happy to join this site.
I was planning to buy a used F355 spider but the maintence cost is just too much
so I switched to look for a NSX, but all I found in HK is automatic transmission (why people want to drive a sportscar in automatic??)
and even if I found a NSX in manual occasionally, they are mostly beated up...and abused.

so I changed my mind again to a used 993 or a new 2005 S2000.
I heard the 993 is quite a boring car, the same Porsche old-school thing.

so now I lock my target to the S2000.
(since HK is a small place anyway, I just need something decently fast and open-top)

I have recently read something about how the latest 2005 S2000 is the most refined model of all, and it is the "real" S2000 that all people have wanted since 2000.

I can't really remember where I read that articles (from my waiting in the airport)
so any tech person can explain more of it??

personally, I know the S2000 can do 0-100km/h in less than 6s, so this is really enough for me.
I am into bikes (Kawasaki ZZR400), too...so anything faster, I think I can archieve that by my bike.

Hi fella Hong Kong citizen.

I've seen a custom painted orange S2000 at one of the buildings in Admiralty with some Japanese-looking owner smoking next to it, it looked pretty nice, he had crazy amount of aftermarket parts on it and they all seemed high quality stuff (like Amuse, Mugen etc)

For US models, there is no change for 05 from 04 other than 150 dollar price increase. For 04, it received face lift such as updated front and rear styling, slightly roomier and more comfortable cabin, and the engine stroked to 2.2 liters. The change was in the US only, but I am not sure if other countries are now using the 2.2 liter motor for 05 but I doubt it.

I don't know if convertibles are practical in Hong Kong though, the air seem way too polluted. For the same price, you should also consider Lotus Elise 111S (not sure if they sell R in HK), Opel Speedster and few other cars that the US ppl don't get.

F355 GTS/berlinetta would be my choice for driving/autoxing in HK but they are still very expensive even with a lot of miles on it and maintenance is just a parasite on your wallet.

Also don't forget about parking. I bet even the Europeans would complain about parking in Hong Kong. If you are bigger than what is considered 'slim', you won't be able to get out from your car at mall parking ramps. Ferrari's are too wide imo. I think MR2, Z4, S2000, MX-5, Elise, Speedster are perfect sizes.

wow.....I won't get my S2000 until Chinese new year next year..
I am now driving a VW New Beetle 1.8Turbo manual...(very boring but suit me at that time I bought it )

I find I need some excitment in my life, and not to stay with lime cars...
so I change my living, by first get into motorcycle. which I drove illegally before in China
now..I get a license and a Kawasaki ZZR400

and I now must change my NB to a much faster car....

the last fast car I have is a 1989 Ford Thunderbird,
and the fastest car I've seated in "lately" is the latest Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo (Australia), doing 190KM/H in Huntingwood in the past Monday (2004 model, straight 6, 300HP) **the owner is one of the Holden team race car driver, who also works in my buyer's cooperation
**but for the same price if imported to HK, I would get a GTR instead

the fastest car I have test driven is the 1994-95 Pontiac Trans-Am RAMAIR V8
**damn thing is ultra fast..but not very good handling, it's not sticking to the ground, but more like floating on the surface. very easy to lose control..

I also want to get into motorsport after my changes.

anyone doing racing in Malaysia?? (I mean professional racing school)

I heard news about the Australia Louts Elise club
1year of racing (total 8 races, fully TV coverage, package including the supply of race car, Lotus Elise)
is AUS 140,000 = US$102,200 = HK$800,000
**suggesting to get sponsorship for this money..and it will be considering very cheap to race professionally.
