Here go to turnzero gear calculator-->>http://www.turnzero.com/technical_resource...gear_calculator

ap2:
80 mph = 4950 rpms (w/ 4.77)
80 mph = 4750 rpms (w/ 4.56)

ap1:
80 mph = 5000 rpms (w/4.77)
80 mph = 4800 rpms (4/4.56)

You can put in any rpms and see what rpm you'll be doing...Also you can change your wheel/tires size of you're not stock.

I'm just trying to figure if I want the 4.77s or the 4.56s..

if you have gone thru this decision process let us know what you did and why.

If you put in a ratio of 2 on that calculator you get a top speed of 318MPH Gearset 2.00 FTW!!!!

I have 4.57's installed, I love them! I should have gotten them sooner.

According to the calculator if you have 18" tires then the rpm's at 80mph is about 4500. Does this seem right?

with 4.56 gears btw...

Did a little experiment. I drove on the highway ~80mph in 5th gear to simulate the 4.77s (in 6th gear). It was not the end of the world, but more than I want to put up with on my daily commute.

I'm sticking with the 4.56 (I have on order)

the 4.56 are also stronger than the 4.77 for what it's worth.

i really need to finish my 4.57(4.56) gear FAQ. i just haven't had the time with moving into our new house and everything going on.
