When I bought my car 3 months back I took some extra time and paid the premium of buying used from a dealer in order to have a certified used car. Now I am reading all these horror stories about Honda not honoring claims on HondaCare issues.

Is HondaCare different from Honda Certified?

not sure how honda cares, i know its an extended warranty. with the certification, all it covers is the powertrain, which i'm sure that includes the engine, that might be it...not sure if it covers the tranny or diff, most likely not.

 

Certified cars get an extra 12k/1ty bumper and longer for the powertrain. My S's warranty goes through 2008 and 2011 or something.

 

the certified honda program is actually a warranty. hondacare is a contract.

 

I purchased mine as a Honda certified car with 5,995 miles on the clock...(1 extra year on the bumper to bumper and 7 year 100k warranty)

 

I thought HondaCare was an extended warranty for new cars and Honda certified was for used cars !?!?
I'm probably wrong though.
