Default Difference Between US & EU Tail lights

I intend to upgrade my MY01 to MY03 tail lights. (nickel ring)
The problem is that you guys in US have an extra red light in both rear sides of the car and I cant figure if this is just an additional bulb that can be removed or is the internal construction of the US tail light that just allows red light to be seen from the side.

Thank you
Aris

Are you 100% sure about this???
I can order them as we speak so I have to be absolutely sure about this!
If it is only the extra bulb there will be no problem, but I am afraid of additional differences.

Thanks

Hey, all I know is that there is a bulb, just for the rear sidemarker, to make it red glow on the ends. Whether it mounts differently (which I doubt) due to this, I'm not sure of.
