differences between f20 and f22.
just wondering. both the f20 and f22 have the same horsepower, with the f22 having a bit more torque.
question is, with .2 liters of displacement added on where's the aditional power?
my guess is that they used a milder cam to go along with the lower rev limit. or, they simply made the intake/exhaust paths more restrictive, anyone really know for sure?
thanks

The F22 makes a little more torque, thanks to it's longer stroke. But, because of that longer stroke, it can't as easily spin as fast. The numbers just cancel each other out for the most part.
Honda wanted to improve sub VTEC performance, which it did with this engine and it's change in transmission ratios, but I don't think they ever wanted it to significantly outperform the F20 in all out performance. It's proven to be a reasonable compromise for most of us. Some prefer it and others don't.
Personally, I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

it makes full horse power and torque sooner, liek 2000 rpms sooner than the f20c, also with torque, just sucks it doesnt rev to 9000 nemore
the peak power and torque on the F22 is only a couple hundred rpms before the F20's peak. where on earth did you get 2000rpms?
If I'm remembering correctly, the peak hp and torque numbers occur at:
F20 - peak HP is at 8300 rpm and peak torque is at 7500 rpm.
F22 - peak HP is at 7800 rpm and peak torque is at 6500 rpm.
That 500 rpm difference on the HP and 1000 rpm difference on the torque.
FWIW.
