Wow... I think about this mod everytme I get in the s2k now! I'd like to help in some way. Maybe if you can scan the template or at least take a straight on picture of the template next to a ruler, I'd like to start work on a new piece.

Also, while the dash is out, do you get a better view of what makes the other controls glow orange? We may need to make some sort of color filter for the audio and temperature controls as well.

Thanks!

I like that color ALOT! The blue is perfect, but not too fond of the pink redline....

Any progress on this?

This is a mod that would allow me to take care of the rainbow that is my cabin today...

You're the dude with the bad-a$$ pics of the black car. I was using one of your pictures the other day in my photoshop, it's excellent quality, mind if I ask what camera you use?

Way to get measurements and try things out

PHOTOSHOP

On a PC if you scan anything in at 96ppi it is at 100% scale, you can go ahead and do 100ppi, the difference in
size shouldn't be a big problem. Once in photoshop you can divide each zone into a layer, and start playing with
the colors. After all that is done, print out on a transparency. Now it is time for the tech people to get that
transparency on a thicker piece of clear plastic so that it works well.

If you are intending to print the trans forget about inkjet printing. The dyes and pigments were not intended for much UV exposure. You can however print the trans from a LVT (film recorder), Lightjet or Lambda output device. Most service bureaus will provide you with their color chart (Pantone swatches) for transparent color to choose a filter color to your liking. Mounting the filter to heavier plastic is no problem using optically clear adhesive film. Many lighting gels could also be used as a filter.
Although you may choose to build a Photoshop file at 100 ppi for this effort you want to use at least 200 ppi for most of the film recorder devices. Don't worry about screen res for the final output you should be concerned with print size (200ppi @1:1).
