Default directions to install top latch

Driver's side top latch broke, and I need directions on how to install a new one.

I know when the hardtop latches were put on when I put a hardtop on, there had to be a few adjustments to get air noise out, but I wasn't paying any attention on the adjustments. I didn't know whether the softop latches also needed adjustments when bolted on, like the hardtop latches.

When I installed the hardtop, I had new strikers put on at that time, also.

Thanks!

There isnt much adjustment for front latches. Just reinstall with same number of shims under latch if any.

There must be a difference between the latches for the softtop and the hardtop, then, since after installation of the hardtop latches require a bit of tweaking.

Shims? Didn't know about those.

Directions of step 1 through ? ? ? on how to remove and install driver's side latch?

Hardtop latches are thicker. Beefier. Both only bolt on. Holes are not slotted. So not much adjustment. All the adjustment done using rear latches. Front ones can only add or remove shims.

Jeff is sending me another latch since obviously this one was defective, and that there is only the 2 screws plus the shims that are already in place, so no adjustments.

Found out hardtop latches don't work with softtops: too short, the body and hook.
They bolt on just fine, you just can't manipulate the latch at that point.
So now I order softtop latch.
Live and learn.
