Disappointing S2000

You'd think used S2000s, being a performance machine targeted toward enthusiasts, would overall be in better condition than something such a used Malibu for instance. Unfortunately, as you've seen, that's not really the case. People don't know how to take care of cars. To make matters worse, where do cars receive the poorest treatment? Dealers.
Good luck in your search. Your car is out there.

It seems like the wealthier they are, the worst they maintain.
Bah, some dipsh*t that wakes up one day and suddenly decides - I need one of those "little convertables" will buy that car and not notice a think is wrong. He/She will never wash it, never clean the interior, leave it parked with the top down ALL the time, and never change the oil. A year later, He/She will trade it in on a "one of those big trucks" and the circle will start all over again. Be glad that car is there. That one will help keep the idiots off the nice ones that someone like you (hopfully) will take care of.

It happens.
I remember driving only 50 miles to look at a certified 06 LBP that looked great on the net.
Door dings, scratches and the previous owner smoked 3 packs a day in it.
Understand your frustration.

Went to see a 2005 with 47k miles today. Car vibrated at idle, had numerous dings, but worst of all had a scratch from the right front fender all the way across the door and ended at the rear wheel well. Almost bald rear tires. For $17,500 + $399 dealer fee I think not!!! Arggg
Where are you located?

I broke an over 3 hours total to look at an S in jersey that looked great on the net. The top had holes everywhere, the paint looked terrible and the interior was also in a sad state. Did I mention all the money I wasted in tolls? Something told me not to go.... They wouldn't even budge on the price. What a joke.
