Default disaster at the tire shop

Where do I begin. Bought new Hankook rs3's to be put on at a local tire shop. I was at work all day so my father picked them up for me. I wanted them put on my rpf1's. When I came home from work tonight, I opened them from the bag that they were in, and one wheel was scratched really really bad and another scratched lightly. I'm furious.

Is there anything I can do? Are they liable? Are there any quick fixes that I can apply to a black wheel. Just pissed that I spent money only to see this happen.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Edit: Move this post if necessary. In my fit of rage, I wasn't looking to see if this is the right section for my thread

I have new black chrome SSR Professors on the way and this is my worst nightmare!

How do you find a shop that knows and cares about not damaging expensive wheels?

I really think it's a toss up. I went to this place because "the guy was the best" and the "wheel wont even touch the machine that puts the tire on."

Like an idiot I fell for this. The only way to avoid it, would be to do it yourself. I'm pissed.

Nothing you can do since the car was taken away from the business. If the business is one with great customer service, they might pay for the damages.

Is what it is I guess. Hope this doesn't happen to anyone else for this upcoming Spring.

You don't know. You just have to take pics before you take it in for some tires and check it thoroughly after the tires are on. And down pay yet until you are happy with your wheels.

I always take mine wheels off my s and load in the van then head to the tire shop.

My problem would be that my wheels are made to order in Japan and take months to arrive.

If you have really nice wheels, its best if you take it in for tires yourself. Dont ever let someone else take it in cause they might not think your wheels are as nice as you think they are.

I definitely will do that and be sure to inspect them before I leave the shop

i was trying to pinch pennies after i bought my work vsxx's. Took them to walmart because it was alot cheaper than any where around. Brought in my rear wheels and my tires. My dad had his wheels mounted and had no problems so i was taking my chances. I talked to the guy personally to be careful, unfortunatley, he rolled the lips right into a rod iron bar sticking out of a machine. After getting them back i pointed it out and they paid to fix both wheels as the damaged the other one too. It was ridiculous getting the money from them. Wouldnt pay me but i confused what seemed to be a newer manager and gave me all the money.

No one wants to admit fault anymore, or take pride in their work for that matter
