Default DIY Burnt Ti Countersunk

Do you guys think it would be possible to take a countersunk Rick's knob and use a torch to burn it to give it the bluish burnt Ti look?

A butane torch should (key word) do it.

I have seen Billman torch a Ti knob at a techday event with a blowtorch so, yes, it is possible. You can PM "billman250" if you want to find out exactly how he did it. I know they looked really good when he was done with it.

would it be possible to do it to an aluminum knob, since the Ti Rick's are currently out of stock?

^ No, I don't think you can "burn" aluminum like you can with titanium.

I think you can burn Aluminum, it'll just take a higher temperature.

aluminum will look like poo poo torching it will just cause it to expand and open up the pours if you will and oxidize it. you might be able to polish it afterward, but that would be a creation all its own.
