Hi everyone, I'm new here. I want to replace the headlights on a 2004 Honda S2000. New oem ones are discontinued. Will the +2006 oem ones work? Is it plug and play or will it not work because the DRLs?

What are you showing for part numbers on the discontinued housings?

DRLs on my 2006 S2000 are merely the high beams at reduced voltage. I've always been under the impression all the magic is in the wiring, not the headlight housings or bulbs. Likewise Canuck S2000s have always had DRLs

Thanks for the reply. Looking here shows that only new +06 headlights are only available and the rest are discontinued: https://www.hondapartsnow.com/oem-ho...headlight.html. I have a US S2000 and wondering if the headlights will be able to function if I install the +06 headlights onto the 04.

 

I have no idea why there'd be a difference for the 2006+ cars. I thought there may be LEDs in my 2006 headlights but all I see are the same incandescent bulbs as all the others. The eBay listings show they're "universal" for all AP2 model years and maybe direct replacements for the 2000-2003 cars.

I'm seeing notes that the lens changed in 2006 which would change the part number but no notes on function. Change may have been a regulatory issue. Handing this off to the community. Several previous threads on the subject. Enter this in your Google search.

The headlight housings have nothing to do with DRL.

Yes, 06+ housings will work on any S2000.

I believe the 06+ have a fresnel projector lens, which is why they have a different part number. Completely irrelevant in real life.

They will swap onto your 04-05 with zero mods.
