do all dealers use same oil?

Wondering if anone knows what type/brand oil your local honda dealer uses in the s2k and if there is any uniformity here.??

Mine uses castrol Syntec, not a full synthetic, but a good oil, I think.

The Honda brand oil at the Honda dealers on Long Island are actually made by Mobil. It says so on the bottle.

I just went in for a change and they wanted to use Chevron oil. Pass, I supplied Castor Oil.

Acutally I think Castrol Syntec is a FULL synthetic.

Castrol Syntec is now made with a petroleum base.

Sadly, it seems that the service department is a profit center for dealers and most will use whatever bulk oil that meets basic Honda specs and is the cheapest.

It is a small disappointment to realize that dealership management isn't passionate about cars. Cars are just a commodity to them. I guess you would never be able to sell one if you felt about them the way we feel about ours.
