Default do all Jdm Ap2's come with an F22C?

Hi everyone,

I'm David, from the Wolverhampton, England.

In the next couple of months i'll be ready to import the car ive wanted for...........well, for since i can remember.....a White AP2 S2000

I will be using Tegiwa Imports in Stone, to import it for me, but just browsing at a japanese auction site, all the Ap2's i saw were all F22C powered.

i know in japan and the us, the F22C was introduced in the AP2, but exactly when?
Are there Jdm Ap2's out there with F20C's?

I wanted a jdm s2000 for the slightly more powerful, and higher compression f20c.
an Ap2 in particular because i prefer the styling.

is this a match that doesnt exist?

Thank you in advance for answers

Looking through wikipedia i have just seen this

"......... In 2006, the F22C1 engine replaced the F20C in the Japanese market as well; however, the F20C continued in all other world markets......."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_S2000

so this would suggest my dream S2000 does exist. a 2004-2005 white F20C powered AP2

The Jdm F20C IMO is the ultimate F.

in the honda world, the Jdm F20C is the B18C-R.
the F22C is the B20 Vtec. may be slightly faster in some cases, but cant rev as high (reliabley) and never feels as alive and thrilling to drive.

I think it will be a much more fun and rewarding car to drive hard, which is what i will be doing.

For daily use i can see the merits of the F22C, But for all out performance, and overall, ive yet to be impressed by an F22C, but theres always time before i make my S2000 purchase

The 2009 Honda S2000 Ultimate Edition.

I think its only in selected markets, so I dont know where you would find one. But its basically everything you're looking for. Its on the ap2 chassis, only comes in white, and has the F20 engine. Happy hunting.

yeah the '09 final edition in the Uk is a good option, but being an '09 is rather expensive still.

plus, it has the Uk spec F20c.

This being said, there is one still at the local Honda Dealership that i drive past every day, sitting there taunting me haha

After much deliberation i think for my money, the 04-05 Jdm Model really is the best option. Higher compression and slightly more power than the Uk model, and also has the more desirable rear bumper with the square number plate recess rather than the ugly Uk Recess

Many people want the more raw engine. f22 just doesn't "feel" as fun to me and many other people. I guess if you got it to rev to 8700 or so like some do then I would want it. At 8 grand it feels boring to me.
