I have a red interior, and I've always wondered if the black seats get hot enough to burn your bottom. The red seats don't have that problem.

I'm sure they will. That's why I have one of those sun blocker thingies...

I also now will not work at a company that does not have covered parking.

i park and put my top up. don't lock it and leave windows down, but the top makes a great sunshade.

Squeezer,

I am in Phoenix, where it has already hit 109 degrees this year, and has spent a couple of weeks in the 105-107 range. My car sits in an asphalt parking lot all day, usually with a car cover on. The top is left down under the cover; the top is put up if I am not using the cover cover.

My observations:
1) The seats have never been hot enough to notice, even without the car cover.
2) The Voodoo aluminum shift knob gets extremely hot, very quick, with or without the car cover. Some days I would like to go for a drive after work but can't because the shifter is nearly untouchable. I am trying to find a solution (Ti knob?)...putting a cover over the knob hasn't helped.
3) The metal trim on the console gets hot under my wrist while shifting. The rest of the console heats up if left in the sun uncovered (long drives do this).
4) Driving with the top down at 109 degrees is fine. If you are in stop and go traffic, a little AC makes it more comfortable when you aren't moving.

I have noticed a few times that my car is already at 3 bars when I start it up...makes for nice VTEC'ing out of the parking lot. Can't wait to see what happens when we hit 115 or 120 in July.

I've parked mine in the sun a few times with the top down and I was really amazed at how relatively cool the seats actually stayed. The light grey leather seats in my blazer get a lot hotter in the sun than the black seats in my S2000.

Can't say I've ever had a problem with my seats.

The seats don't heat up very much, but the damn top of the door where you want to rest your arm sure as hell does....oww!

Holy sh*t, yes, they are hotter than Hades! Perhaps you guys don't notice it because you wear longer shorts, but that's the very reason I have the cow seat covers... I got sick of charring second degree burns into my legs (and my butt in bikini/beach season)!
