Do I have the 1-2 grind?

I've driven sticks forever and I rarely grinded a gear. When driving the S2K I grind 1st to 2nd at least 1 in 75 shifts. Would this be the infamous 1-2 or have I lost my touch

On a per-shift basis, you should be grinding 1-2 at least twice as often as any other gear to be sure that it is not driver error. If half of your grinds are 1-2, they may be due to driver error because this is the most common high RPM shift.

I just put mine in the shop last week for the seat belt and the grind. I to was wondering if I'd lost it when my son ( who works for a Honda repair center) called to tell me of the re-calls. I must admit it was a relief. Looks like the job will take over a week. The dealership should be able to tell you if yours is in the re-call batch by the VIN#. Give them a call.

Hey Rush, sounds real familiar, that's about the right ratio. I questioned myself at first too but it didn't go away. No formal recall, just service notice.

If they do any work in there check for your clutch too. It may be covered under the TSB on the clutch for the decellerating rattling noise that sounds like a heat shield.
