Default Do I have a defect?

I am a new S2000 owner and new to this forum. I have an 01 white w/ front&rear spoiler and side skirts. I have enjoyed the car alot, it is very similar to a motorcycle. Anyways my question, my top is pretty loud when I am doing 50mph+ or on windy days and on days that it is raining really heavy my top tends to leak, is this normal? I ride in my brothers Boxster and he does not encounter these problems, he mentioned that I might have a defect. Overall I love my car though. It has been the funniest car I have ever had (11 to be precise). I am 24 and I have problem with cars and motorcycle. I tend to keep my cars for little less than a year and get another but I think I will keep this one for awhile. The only other car I would trade this one for is an 02 BMW M3. But enough of my problem, what are others input about my top.

ps. thought about getting a hardtop but they are so darn expensive.

It leaks from the center and where the top meets the top of the windshield

This is not normal and may be related to not closing the top properly or a defect in the rubber seal. It is most likely the former.

When you close the top, be sure to snug the header down the the top of the windshield frame before engaging the latches. This ensures that the top is correctly positioned towards the front of the windshield frame allowing the seal to do its job.

Let us know if this fixes your problem.

Is the boxster top lined? If it is, then that would be why our tops are louder in rain since ours isn't lined. I would take it into the dealer since it should still be under warranty and have them look at your seals if coraldocs' recommendation doesn't work. My top doesn't leak and I've been in some pretty bad rainstorms before.

You replace your car every year? And you think a hard top is expensive?
