Default Do online listings actually work?

I am thinking about listing my car at cars.com, but do people actually buy cars from online classifieds like that?

I don't know if people actually buy off of them, but I know people check them out. I was looking for cars for a friend the other day and a lot of my friends check out cars online.

I've had my supercharged Civic Si on AutoTrader.com for a couple weeks now. I've had two emails on it... so far, not worth the cash. A modified car is a tough sell, but it's going into the local AutoTrader mag on Friday, and I'm expecting better things from there.

I've sold my 99 Accord and bought my 99 Odyssey, and 00 S on ebay. Seems to work well for me.

After I bought my suzuka charmer last September, I put my RX-7 Convertible up on AutoTrader. $45 gets you extended text and a picture and it stays up until the car sells or you withdraw it.

I had a flurry of phone calls each weekend and several e-mails. It took about a month, but I sold the car after about a month to a fellow who lives about a hundred miles north of here. I never advertised it anywhere else. All I did was put a pointer to it in a couple of RX-7 oriented discussion groups.

So from my experience of just trying it once, it worked for me.

We bought our S2000 from a private party via autotrader.com. I also sold my '91 Integra in the AutoTrader magazine (I don't think it was done via the Internet when I sold it in '95). Both deals worked out really well.

I sold my 01 Lude SH with 4k miles on autotrader.com and it only took 2 weeks before it sold. I was in Ohio the buyer was in WI and we shipped it to him, sight unseen. The car was in perfect condition and I got good money for the car.

I bought my S off autotrader. Flew from CO to DC to get it. I always start at cars.com when looking for a car. I just think its easier than sifting through a newspaper (plus there are pictures).

I sold my S by accidentally letting my dad get one look at it

I've sold two cars by listing them online...........one to someone here in town, and the other to a person in another state who traveled to pick up the car............but I wouldn't pay money to list on line.............there are a whole bunch of sites which list for free...........use a whole bunch of them.........got nothing to lose.............worked for me................
