Do our cars' windows have UV-protection (just like sunglasses)?

All glass has UV protection. Glass is quite good at blocking UV light. Thicker the better.

Even regular eyeglasses block a lot of UV light.


Edit: I suppose we'd need to be more specific as to what type of UV light we're referring to. Some types glass will block, some it won't. For example, you won't get sunburnt through glass.

I don't think you will ever get sunburned behind glass. Ordinary window glass will block 90% of the light below 300nm, which is a where most of the UVB wavelenghts reside. UVB causes sunburns.

When I was in spain, my right arm would always be near the car window...By the end of the trip my right arm was noticeably darker then the left

You can be burned behind glass, but it takes much much longer for it to happen.

Kinda scary though. Or also amazing in another way. Think about how much heat our interior parts go through in the summer! This reminds me that I should leave a small slit open in the window when I park my car outdoors in the summer!
