Default Do you have a test pipe on your S2000?

Hey guys,

I took off my Berk's test pipe so I could pass the state safety test (I passed emissions thanks to the O2 sensor fouler ). But I'm on the fence on to put it back on... it's easy to install but it makes the car smell and is bad for the environment (of course). The obvious 'Pros' for the test pipe is that the car has a little more horsepower and the car sounds 'throatier'. What about you guys?

Actually, this should have probably been posted in the modified section. Can a mod please move this?

Thanks!

I had an Invidia Test pipe installed on the S for about a month before I decided to put the cat back in. I liked the new sound and HP gain and I got used to the smell after a while....but I decided to take it off because I am going to have to smog my car in January and living here in Nazifornia test pipes are a no no. Plus i hear if you get caught by the Po Po that there is a big fine. I am still on the fence about putting it back on though. Is it really worth putting pollutants in the air for 2-3 HP? Call me a tree hugger but IMO not really. I might go with a high flow cat in the future. Just my $0.02

Yes i have a test pipe and it's legal here in Fl. I dont know what smell you are talking about. It's an improvement over my Civic with open downpipe and the great smell of C16. Yes i do care about the enviornment but i also care abot WHP.

I put yes, but I took it off a while back.

Not because I care that much about the environment or smell (though my wife hated the smell). I did not have anything in the car to tune it and after a while I dyno'd it and was losing TQ and HP VS with the cat on the car... so I left it off.
