Default Do you keep your stock parts?

I was just curious who else hoards the original parts when modifying? I have everything that was changed on my car, even things like instead of clearing the original headlights, new ones were purchased and cleared. I have the original ones untouched. I figure as the car gets older parts will be harder to get, thankfully I have a large stock pile.

Yes keep all stock parts. To put back to stock if you decide to sell it.

Yes. While my plan is to keep this car til the end of time, I'll still keep every part that I mod.

I always keep it unless I can find someone buying for a good price. If your mods are tasteful it won't hurt your resale value.

Depends on the part. I sold my cat after I purchased a HFC. Most parts I will keep though.

Absolutely. I have lots of bolt on mods, but keep every single stock part, even down to hardware and lug nuts. I like to have the luxury of going back to 100% OEM, and that would sell easier (even though I plan to keep mine forever). I just shake my head when I see guys selling stock parts right after they add mods. Silly.

Depends. Not selling my stock exhaust because buying another would require a vehicle bigger than I own lol. Thought about selling the stock wheels. AP1 wheels are plentiful.

Wouldn't sell any VIN tagged body panels...not that I've got any that are taken off the car.

But...did sell my VIN tagged AP1 trans and head. I'm not gonna swap my trans to sell the car or something.

Its all case by case.

keep the stock parts all day long. I have the room and don't need the money selling the parts require. At some point, i'd have to rebuy all the parts, likely at a premium

I have the stock airbox just because I have a spot to store it and haven't tried selling. I did sell my stock exhaust to a friend trying to fix up a badly abused/trashed ap1.

When I was building my civic I was definitely selling every part that came off. Like others have stated, it's only a bonus to a potential new buyer as long as your current mods are tasteful and aren't worried about changing anything back.
