I once heard that it was a measure of maturity to be able to let other cars pass you and not feel the urge to catch up and kick their a$$. So I ask you all this...how many cars will you let pass you before you rev it up and pass them all back?

I really don't think that I could be considered mature, but I must admit that I decide the speed that I want to drive at (or the speed that my wife lets me drive at!!) and then drive at that speed. If others want to drive faster, I just let them go past......

I must say though, that there are not a huge number of people who decide to drive faster than I am driving .

One thing that does bug me though, is when you pass people, and then come to traffic and sow down for safety reasons, and then some fool that you passed a few minutes earlier, decides he needs to get past you!!

It all depends on who is trying to pass me.

If the guy is just cruising at a constant speed, behaves himself, etc. and comes up on my butt, i just let him pass. I expect the same from others on the road. Sometimes im just tooling along -- i am not a constant speeder.

And then there is the rare occasion of a prick making his way up through traffic. This is the guy who is driving 30 mph over (10 over is what everyone usually does here in washington, we are quite relaxed), weaving in and out of traffic, almost losing control of his car and causing accidents, and all riced out.

Just today one of these guys got on my ass, and he immediately decided to pass on my right. Big mistake. This is when i like to start $@%%ing with guys like this. We were in moderate traffic, so i went faster (i think he was trying to race me, even though i was just running up to 3.5k RPM .. he he), and make his passing efforts fruitless. Nothing like matching someone's speed when their trying to pass I then attempted to box him into other traffic (the freeway was 5 lanes), suceeded, and he had to hit the breaks and slow way down. He got stuck behind the pack as I continued to make my break in the left line.... see ya.

The above can be a bit dangerous i admit, but some people just really piss me off.

All that matters to me is whether or not I think they are going to driver faster than I am once they pass. There are a bunch of dumbasses who have the "I don't really want to go fast but I want to be in front of you" attitude and once they have passed you they think it is their god given right to go whatever speed they really wanted to be going, even if it is 10 MPH SLOWER than you were going when you let them pass. However, if I believe the person is actually wanting to travel at a faster rate of speed than me I have no problem letting them pass. It's like on a race track; once they pass I should never see them again since they're faster.

It depends: urban driving or highway?

Since Washington DC metro streets tend to resemble car-to-car combat, I'm pretty careful. We have lots of lane jockeys here who like to bob and weave, and I just want them to be on their way.
When I'm on the highway, it's a different story...the S2000 is so quick that most other cars instantly become dots in my rear-view mirror..and if someone decides to press the issue (and conditions are favorable)...I'm up for the challenge.
My wife would have a different answer: nobody ever passes her. She drives like a bat out of hell.

Many crazies out there...
Before I am boxing in a so called "punk", I would think of "road rage".
If I believe that there is a remote chance of winning a big lottery someday, there is similar or more chance that I will be involved in a road rage. For that reason, I sure would not purposfully box in a "PUNK".

I guess I've moved into the "mature" demographic. I've seen the results of too many idiotic high speed crashes. And your right M Power, it stinks. I know the S can run circles around any of the "wanna be's" out there so I'm secure using VTEC for my own pleasure whenever the road is wide open.
