Default Do you take your start button from granted?

I just noticed the other day that every time I start my car I do just that. I have neglected my poor little start button and totally cool it is! Has anyone else done this?...
If so I think that you owe it to your start button to give it some love next time you press it.

I sure did! Cleaned it very well.

One of my friends with an EP hatch wants to get a start button for his car....

Who is "granted"?
No, I did not take my start button from him/her, mine came with my car.

If you need to appreciate it more.....try getting into another car and start it.

I always find myself reaching over to the left side of the dash to push a start button that isn't there.

Too funny.

Yea I know, I usualy press it in a very agressive manor, like I'm mad at it, I'm going to say I'm sorry later. Maybe because the color of it is red and it gets me angry lol.

What is this, "Ode to a Start Button?"

Sorry, but I think it's just a gimmick. Looks cool, and friends find it fascinating, but for the owner (me) it's just another step in the startup procedure. This car already has a much longer startup procedure than any of my previous cars.

Sit down
Seatbelt
Shifter to neutral
Clutch in
Turn key
Press start
Clutch out
Unlatch top
Open top
Turn on headlights
Hold + button to brighten instrument panel
Clutch and brake in
Shift to Reverse
Release parking brake
etc...

When starting up my girlfriend's Prelude, I often find myself trying to start the car by turning off the cruise control. My left hand also tries to find someway to turn the radio down.

My beater is an automatic. Imagine trying to climb in, depress a non-existent clutch, try to press a non-existent Start button, shift an automatic into reverse by pressing down on the shifter and moving it to the right (which it won't do), then accidently shift it into neutral when looking for 1st gear.

Yes, I've done all of that at some point.
