It does not hang down at all. In fact, on my car it tucks in just below the lip on the inside of the front bumper. Mine has taken quite a licking over the 3 year, but the bummper has no new scratches. I did not have a lip.
how is it fixed to the bumper? drilling?

Just so no one misunderstands, I do not have the lower lip extension, just the standard front bumper.

It doesn't matter. You can make that peice for either a stock bumper of one with a lip. That thing has saved my bacon 100 times

The past one, mounting by replacing the existing bolts with longer one. No drilling.

Tech-EFX (site no longer working, strangely) makes a front lip protector for the Boxster. Here's a description from a Google search:

"The Boomerang The Boomerang is offered by Tech-EFX and mounts under the front bumper of the Boxster and protects nose panel from parking damage and radiators and front condensers from highway damage. It is made of polished 304 stainless steel with all stainless hardware."

You can find out more about the Boxster Boomerang at http://www.automotion.com/Productpage.aspx...&name=Boomerang

If only someone would make something like this for the S2000, cos where I work, it's a choice between leaving the rear end of my parked car sticking out for some fool to rear-end, or getting the front lip scraped

I made my own for my amuse lip. My lip has home depot sheetmetal bolted to the bottom of it, so when I scrape, I scrape metal, and not urethane. Looks pretty cool if I scrape at speed, cause it sparks like crazy.

We are currently developing a few different models of this splitter/bumper protector, we should be going into production in the next few weeks. They will be powder coated aluminum so they add a nice agressive look and keep the front of your bumper safe.
We'll keep you updated on the progress.
