When I raise my top I always catch it before it flops. Does anyone else practice this?

I do it. I learned this from a former BMW Z3 owner. He claims it allows the motor to work less or less stress altogether? I do not know if that is true or not, but I figured it won't hurt if I do. Anyone that knows this, want to enlighten us?

Yup, I do it too....my buddies M Roadster doesn't seem to flop as much at the end so I figured I might as well relieve some of that impact and weight.

Do you guys mean you grab the top on its way down? Before it gets to that point where it kinda slumps down suddenly?

Haha oops I'm retarded...I just read the title and the first post, and it says "when it comes up" and "when I raise my top". So I guess nastinupe1 is talking about doing it when the top is being raised. I've never really noticed it flopping on the way up, I'll have to check that.

I don't do it. I'm not tall enough to reach it even if I wanted to catch it on the way down. I've owned previous power convertibles, including a Mustang that I had for 9 years. I never had any problems with power tops and I doubt the Honda top will pose any problems because of NOT catching the top. Just my two cents. Of course, if you want to catch the top I doubt it will do any harm either.
