What I am trying to say is, obviously there are people who rice the shit out of Honda's, so when I tell people I have a Honda, they automatically assume its a riced out civic or what not. (Obviously the S2000 is far from being a ricer)

What are your takes on this?

I really wish the s2000 was not associated with rice but it IS. The truth is this car is now the new "ricetastic ride". Look in any import mag- they are all using s2000s to show off their chinesse knockoff crap. Check out the gallery- the largest thread is the hellaflush thread; hellaflush/ stanced is the newest stage of rice and it has spread like a virus through the community. Have you noticed how many people rave about how the invidia / skunk 2 / ebay knock off exhaust is awesome because it is LOUD and can be heard from 1/4 mile away. This is all side effects of the price, these cars are cheaper than civics now so it is only natural that this car would go downhill like all the other Hondas before it (nsx excluded).
Don't get me wrong, these cars are amazing- just like the type r and gsr are in the fwd ecobox crowds. But it only takes a few to ruin the bunch. Hell, the new Camaro was taken by the donk community and mustangs have gone the way of rice as well. The brz and frs are going the way of rice already.

I agree, unless the person you are talking to knows about Honda and their racing history they don't have any idea what an S2000 is and class it as "just" a Honda.

Then you show them pictures of the car and they say WOW, how can that be a honda?

This reaction is increased tenfold when you show them the NSX.

My K&N FIPK can be heard a 1/4 mile away , the S2K is a loud car.

It's really annoying for people to assume my car is FWD because it's a Honda. I mean...just look at the car for a second. How in the could you possibly think this car is FWD???

Don't really care. Always consider the source. If anyone thinks that all cars of a certain make are the same then that person is the problem.

Everyone always ask me, including mechanics, if I have the V6 version. I always just say, "no, its a 4 cylinder". And they always say, "oh, its just a 4 cylinder." LOL 98% of people are completely ignorant about cars. Even the ones they own.One of favorite games is to ask as many questions about a car that a salesman is trying to sell me, even though I know the answers already. Its hillarious the crap they come up with.

Or it can be a compliment, like I got last week. Those Hondas run forever, great cars.
