winter tires or tire chains are key for snow.. weight of the car doesn't have all that much to do with it.. just drive slower and stuff.. i shouldn't be responding here i live in houston and don't really get a bad winter season here

Get yourself a hardtop for the 'S' and all will be fine . My next 'S' will have a hardtop also, because it will be an everyday driver. Currently looking at '05 model.....

Since you did not leave any information about where in the US you live, I'd just assume you live in Hawaii (a state chosen at random). In that case, driving the S2000 (or any car for that matter) year round would be no problem. Winter where you live is mild and warm, so there is no need for winter tires. I don't understand why you would ask such a question living in such a lovely place. Good luck on your decision, but you can't go wrong with either car year round in Hawaii.

Drive full time (20,000 miles p/yr), however, I'm in So.California. My winter consists of a little rain.

i drove my car daily the first 2 years of owning the car her in the midwest.. winter tires help a bunch.. this year, however, i rather drive my beater volvo in the winter than my s2000 because the cars new setup is not, by any means, made for that kind of condition..

Not necessary if you have a glass rear window.

Don't be an ass, he is deffinitly asking about driving in the snow, which means somewhere with you clowns back on the mainland. By the way, is it getting cold over there yet, because it's still 85 degrees and sunny almost everyday over here. It's tough living in Hawaii, perfect top down driving weather daily, all year round. Oh well, enjoy your winter. Tell yourself its ok because at least you can go skiing if it makes you feel better, I'll be diving off of Diamond Head.
