I think that the S handles better with the top down and wonder if this is so. Is there a handling difference with the top down, or is it just the open air feeling that imparts this sensation?

I don't think it would handle differently with the top down. Feels the same to me...

your ignorance is amazing.

what do you care how it handles? you've never even taken the car over 6k rpms. did your feel your rear-end about to slip out blasting thru that 20 mph turn at 25 mph!?!?

you mean 35 mph??? i don't feel any difference with the top down.. supposible it's suppse to make you slower but i don't feel a difference even at the drag strip. but i did get a .01 slower with top down(maybe it's inaccurate)

now i dont really feel a handling difference with the top up or down. i feel its a more enjoyable drive with the top down cuz you dont get all the creaks and rattles that you get with the top up. but technicly wouldnt having to top up make the car handle better? i mean wouldnt the top up help make the car a little more rigid? i dont think its much of an issue with our cars but i know from driving several miata's that having the top up makes a noticable difference in the cars handling, but they are not nearly as rigid as the s2000.

I think there is a very slight decrease in cowl shake when the top is up, this makes sense as it provides a bit of extra support to the windshield.
No difference in handling IMO.
