In my case, I ordered the car in the colour I wanted, (Deep Burgundy Metallic), and then they made it. Took 3 months. (I am in Singapore by the way, and had a parallel importer order from Japan). So I think they make each colour on the basis of demand. Most popular colours in Japan at the moment: http://www.honda.co.jp/S2000/ranking/index.html
1: GPW 2: BBP 3: NIYP

 

They definitely do not make the same number of each color.

 

For MY2000 they made more Silverstone, and less Grand Prix White. In between, I don't know.

Deep Burgandy was a new color from japan that Singapore2K ordered....
its almost black, but under the light its a deep brown/purplish metallic...very nice..

but ...hmmm, my typical comment is, I like your mocha coloured car ! I'm like "MOCHA !?!&*$@*!!" No, I must admit, under certain light conditions it does look nice, but I'd swap for NFR or GPW in a jiff !

This guy on the Japanese website is driving my Type V, Deep Burgundy Metallic. Looks super cool here I must say.

 

No kidding? I didn't know the S2000 came in Deep Burgandy any where.
