Default Does Honda read s2ki.com?

I'm just curious....Does Honda of America or Honda of Japan read s2ki.com? Dealers do not count. Does anyone know for sure?

Yes they do. I once commented on something on this board and got a reply American Honda. The reply included something about my car that had never been mentioned except when I was on the phone with a tech at AHM.

They definitely read this board. There is actually a guy that works for Honda that answers some of the questions that we have too.

Just think of the money Honda (and other auto makers) could save on R&D if they put some of the suggestions into action from the boards. Civic owners, MDX owners, S2000 owners. In the end, we all own an automobile and what source could be better than an online forum where "real, everyday" owners chat about their cars.

If American Honda does not have someone checking in on this board, then it would be at their loss. I would even dare to predict that the fate of some future cars will be predicted by online forums. If I owned an automotive company and was about to unveil a new model, I would throw out some pics on the internet and see where the discussions go.

It's amazing what could (and would) come out of it.

They do read the board. A little birdie told one of our fearless leaders at SEMA. And we do have one of the lead AHM guys who writes TSB's as an active participant on the board as well.

You're in good hands with S2KI

I've found many service desks get very defensive when you bring up knowledge culled from a forum dedicated to the particular car at hand. It's as if they are being challenged for their own particular knowledge and I'm still convinced most dealerships would much rather prefer the old days when the customer/owner was very much in the dark about their own vehicle. It's rare ('been my experience) to have a relationship with the service desk folks and they're HAPPY you might be bringing in fresh or updated info. The recent spark plug TSB was a good example. My dealership had NO information on it when I showed up and had to fax in the details. One of the guys was very happy to know about it and the other seemed miffed that I knew before he did.
On a more detailed note, marquees who do not assign "someone" to visit these rooms (or to a more advanced degree, the more professionally run forums) are really dropping the ball. Honda, probably their own decision, has lost a LOT of money avoiding the import tuner scene which has grown DESPITE them, certainly not as a result of their interaction. I mean, for pete's sake, Ford has SVT and now Dodge has their own program up and running. What does Honda/Acura do? They give us a watered down Si that can't even compete with a Focus SVT and an "upgraded" RSX that is nothing more than a few body panels. What happened to the company that gave us the class-leading Si and Type R? Sure, they might be visiting but truthfully now, are they LISTENING?

There's the real answer. AHM has a deaf ear to the peformance/enthusiast market, sad to say. They just don't seem to get it, and it makes you wonder who they have in charge.

I find what Russ says to also be true with Honda sales people. As I was waiting for my car during an oil change awhile back I wondered into the dealer show room and started talking to a guy whos was looking at a Silver S.As we were chatting I told him I owned one and he started asking me many questions which I was more than happy to answer. As we were getting into the changes from the 00,01's and 02's this young sales dude comes walking up and starts shooting down everyone of my answers to this guys question.Having had it with this sales a-hole I turned to the guy I was talking to,handed him my business card and invited him to call me if I could be of any further help.I gave the sales guy the "stink eye" and left the showroom.
