Default Does this look normal?

Hey guys I seek some help

After washing MY04 looking around I see an unusual gap between my bumper and QP

I searched and it seems that this is a common issue for most S2000.

Previous owner did not mention any rear damage, and Vin matches on the rear bumper.

My question does this look like it was in an accident or just a common factory issue with S2000.

It's an issue from the factory.

Panel gaps are not always perfect even when the panels have never been touched. I'm not a body guy, claim no expertise, but I think that gap could be sorted out without a lot of fuss if you know what you are doing.

Had the same issue. remove the taillight and the bumper fasteners. Adjust the gap and tighten up the fasteners. I added a couple of screws. Seems the fasteners had loosened, wear?. Easy fix. Good luck.

This. Had a similar issue, plus some panel gap between bumper and QP. Had to remove bumper for another reason and was able to tweak bumper mounting points and resolve fitment issues.

This reassures me. My bumper looks like it's dropped a bit, I was worried my children had been jumping on it or something.

A few Honda models have had that over the years, including Acura Integras.

Again thanks to all who gave me peace of mind.

I recently had my car in a shop paint/body shop @Balico Automotive at Bergen County NJ

Had my rep AP2 lip paint match and installed.

While they were at it, I had them inspect the rear bumper and QP alignment. Darren at Balico said they found nothing out of the ordinary all clips and retainers were intact and no evidence of any previous body work either.
