Just wondering if the S2000 has undercoated wheel wells. I just got an S2000 and the tires sure seem to pick up a lot of rocks and throw them around under the wheel well and its quite noisy.

yes. i dunno why but for some reason, its really noisy on the S. In other cars you barely notice it. thats why i freak out everytime i hit some gravel or little pieces of rocks.

Parts of the wheel well are not undercoated, so you might be hearing the rocks hit that part. $3 for a can of rubberized and sound deadening undercoating at your local auto parts place. Spray a bunch of that up there if you want to

Well, I might be wrong but to me, picking up lots of gravel has to do with the tires.

They do come out of the factory with a basic underseal coating.
It's not great and doesn't last well against stones.
I've under sealed two of my S's for this reason and salt protection.

HOW DID YOU DO IT MIKEY K?
I was also thinking of taking like a can of WD40 and spraying it all under the car. Figure the oil will keep the water off. A friend of mine uses this CRC spray from a local auto store...I guess its for boats round here but works wonders on his chevy truck and his snow mobile...think stuff

It's your car. If you want it quieter, do whatever you want!
There, fixed that for you.

After much though the traditional way!
Up on axle stands
2.5L tin of bitumen based underseal and a paint brush
$hit job but IMHO the best way to get a good layer on ALL the under side of the body shell.
