I've had my eye on Enkei J10 wheels for a while. Im deciding to purchase them in a set of 17's or 18's. does anyone know for a FACT that 18's will effect 0-60 in a negative way? or any other ride characteristics? I heard that 17's are the optimal size for the S. Also the wheels are only offered in an unstaggered size but the salesguy recommended doing a staggered tire setup. So larger tires in the rear but unstaggered wheels. Whats the best combo? I love the look of the 18's but i dont want too much of a negative impact. Will the 18's have a large impact on performance? Anyone have experience or is knowledgeable about this circumstance? i just cant trust the sales guy. Thanks -David

No ive never raced my S since ive purchased it about 9 months ago. But I do punch it every now and then. Plus I want the satisfaction of knowing that I can take a Porsche Boxster when it comes down to it. But I know alot of people on here run 18's.
My 18" wheels are lighter than my 16" wheels (stock)
Having said that, the butt dyno still says that the 16s accelerate slightly faster. More of the weight is farther out from the center of the wheel, and more force is required to turn that weight since it's farther out in the circle. Someone with a background in physics can explain it better.

Your talking about a MINIMAL difference between 0-60 times from 16 to 18s. I could feel the difference my testpipe + catback added (about 17hp total) but I could feel no difference between my 16s and my 18s granted they are the same weight just bigger.

Same concept applies if you try to spin around with your arms fully extended out to your sides with weights in your hands....now try spinning with your arms and the weights pulled in to your chest....much easier.
Most people wont feel the difference going to 18s (depending on how heavy they are though I guess). But most people will notice the difference if/when they go back to 16s.
Like ENTHRALLED said, if you want them and you dont race, just get them and a set of gears and you'll be just peachy
The diameter makes a big difference on the gear ratio of our low-torque cars. Most 18" tires have a larger diameter than similar width 16" or 17" tires. I could definitely feel that my old 18" set-up was slower than 16" or 17". I switched back and forth several times.
