does this sound fishy?
I am selling my car and a guy from Boston Emailed me this:
"I'd really like to make a deal with you on your s2000. I'm looking everywhere and yours is perfect (white w/ red leather). I'm from boston so I wouldn't be able to come meet with you more than once. However, what I would need from you is a signed intent to sell form which I would provide for you and a copy of the title (faxed or scanned and emailed) both for the bank. Once all that is squared away I'd be able to come down, sign the paperwork and give you your money. Then drive home of course. Let me know what you think, I've actually done this before with a car I purchased in Texas and it worked out great. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks! -Tom"
Has anyone ever sold a car to some one out of state and has had to do this.
Do not worry I'm not leaving the S2000 community I am looking to getting a newer one

Well it sounds like he is just protecting himself from going through the hoops and then you changing your mind.
I would make some requirements of him though to protect you in the same manner, something like based on bank agreement this indivicual will purchase the car.
It is a two way door.

Get in touch with your bank and furnish them with all the requirements as stated by the buyer. It will help if you know what his personal bank is. Banks can talk with each other and advise you "yes or no" and possibly arrange for a wire transfer of funds.
I just looked into something similar to this for a client. I'm not saying he isn't legit, but one very good way to be sure is to get him to give you the phone number of the bank person he is dealing with. Then google that to ensure it really is the bank, and then call them and ask what they need. Fax it direct to them.
