does your stook give you exercise?
In other words, how far is far enough when you park while shopping.
This was taken last night - a few other shots taken while I was at Best Buy last night on my photopoint album. I was looking for a spot, go right to the back of the parking lot, and what do you know, I see wea's car.
So does parking your s2000 give you that much more exercise while finding the perfect spot away from everyone else?

I park like this in parking lots...oh yea! The farther away the better...!
Now that I drive the 4Runner 24/7 now, parking is so different because now I just take the most convenient spot...that feels weird!
It's funny, Schatten, I used to eat at that Taco Cabana all the time...I used to live on Metric. Many a late night trips there for fajitas and other texmex goodies...

So true cthree.
That's why I find an end spot, and angle the car in, so someone can't really park that close to my door. If I'm parking in an end spot where there is no car on the passenger side, I angle the front of the car over to the right as much as possible. That way, the back end is still in the spot, but the front and everthing else is way over to the right. Away from possible dings.
As to getting more exercise, I always got more exercise regardless of which car I drive. I always baby all the cars I've owned.

cthree is right. I park as far as I can from other cars in a space that I think no one would want to park next to, only to find some two-door beater next to me when I'm ready to leave.
I'm already in the habit of doing a walk-around inspection to make sure no damage has been done.

Where I work, there is a 2-level upper parking lot. The lower deck of this lot is at the same elevation as our three story office building's roof.
From the upper lot, you can see over the building and into the next town. I park at the far end of this upper lot along with a GSR, ITR, Porsche 911 and sometimes, a very cool looking XKR Jag.
None of us park within 30 yards of each other, yet, like Rick, I instinctively do the walk around, more often then not, before buckling up and pressing the cool red button.
Needless to say, after 1+ years of this, I am in pretty good shape from all of the daily stair work and my car does not have any of those dreaded dings.

Because of having had heart surgery several years ago and even though I walk a mile every day, I qualify for a handicap plackard. I'm really glad because I get to park my stook in a real wide spot where it is safe. I've been challenged more than once by someone saying I don't look handicapped and I just show them the scar where the doc cracked my chest open; this usually shuts them up. By the way, I don't always take the spot nearest the door.
