Well, I will try not to bore all of you, but I have to share the news. I got a call today from a local dealer (San Leandro Honda) and they tell me that they just got two S2K's in yesterday (one silver/black and a red one). I told them I currently have a deposit on one at another dealer that is due in April/May but asked them how much anyway.

They said since it was the last day of the month, I could buy either one at MSRP. I thought about it for about 10 seconds and said I will take the silver one and be there within the hour. So, I get there and the car is still in the plastic and hadn't even been preped. Which is great, because I told them I wanted to wash the car myself, which I did!! They got a kick out of that.

One question, I am getting a grinding sound when I take off from a stop in 1st gear and when the clutch is about 3/4 of the way out. Is this the 1-2 grind problem. Does this go away over time or do I need to take it in to the dealer. Thanks

I got the same call from dealer nearby. Yellow for MSRP. This, from a dealer who originally wanted $5000 ADM + sticker. go figure....must be the economy?

If you do some leg work, you can get it well under MSRP. I got mine (Yellow 01 w/ 6 miles) for $1300 under MSRP INCLUDING the rear spoiler AND security system. That's here in Minnesota - I've had it for less than a week. There are dealers around here too trying to ask for a $5000 ADM. Needless to say, I didn't do business there!!!

I agree you can get it for less than MSRP east of the Rockies, but MSRP is much harder to come by here in Northern California.

I bought mine by sending faxes out to the dealers. When I signed the papers, I hadn't even stepped foot into the dealership - I didn't even know where it was!!! I knew what city it was in, but I had to get a map from Yahoo. I sent a fax to about 15 local dealers, and about 8 or 9 responded, with about 5 well under MSRP. They were all so close in price, and I was able to get the price a little lower, and they threw in a spoiler and security system to synch the deal.

If anyone wants to try this method, drop me a line, and I can give you a copy of the verbiage that I used in the fax.

I'm very curious about this... I just got mine today, and after driving 30 or so miles, all was fine, then after letting the car sit for a few minutes, I started it again and it started grinding somewhere between 1st and 2nd gear. I'll check it again in the morning, but I'm kinda worried. I'm about to search the forum to see if I can find anything out...

Thanks Jeff,

I appreciate the advice. I also got it a couple of times in 2nd gear as well. I will try giving it more RPMS and see if this helps but it seems strange that it is doing this in the first place. It is funny you should mention "a slight turn of the steering wheel", because when I was turning a corner from a dead stop, it didn't do it.
