Default Doh! Rear emblem...

So I've seen several pics of cars with the rear H badge removed, and I liked the clean look. So, I decided I'd remove mine (MY00).
Unfortunately, what I didn't expect was that the emblem has two prongs which insert into grommets to help hold it on, rather than just using adhesive. So, not wanting to leave two holes in the trunk, my rear emblem is now held on rather loosely by those two prongs and the old adhesive.

I'd rather not spend $65+ for the black chrome badging kit (although it is quite nice).
Can anyone suggest a good alternative?

Remove the badge completely, clean off the old adhesive and install some new adhesive. It comes in rolls (two sided auto trim tape). See where the original adhesive is and try to duplicate it with the new stuff. You'll need to do some fancy trimming to make it the same size and width.

If the creator of the thread did not want spend $65 for a new emblem, what makes you think they want to pay a body shop to repaint and fill in the wholes to the rear trunk?

What I can afford and what I want to spend are two completely different things.

My old car was completely shaved and it looked so clean. I am going to shave the front and rear H emblems soon, i am tired of the S badges. I want to shave the door handles and the gas cap and run it under the license plate but i don't want to re-paint that much of this car. I have never seen an S with shaved door handles, must look nice.
