a better sugestion would be to build up your credit score and get low interest financing over 72 months, how else do college kids(me) afford this car

400 and some change payments=two days of work
Damn...why finish college if you're already making $6,000 a month and $72k a year?

Dude... i checked your profile... are you really 48 years old!?!? Or is it a typo? From your statement, I thought you were a broke college kid

Maybe you should look into investing in school or something to help in a career change... then you will be able to afford the car! its never too late

Hi SolRebonn, yes I'm old 48, guess I'm one of those americans that live from paycheck to paycheck. It happens, but if you need a small bio. I'm damn god at my job, Iv'e had two in my life. Drove an eighteen wheeler for 14 years coast to coast. when trucking was deregulated I lost my a$$. For the last ten years I worked for a movie company that was non union. I was told that I would always have a job, NOT. Oh well no blame anywhere, just happens like that sometimes. Just started driving a gas tanker in San Diego. Not the most fun but it pays the bills.

Guego512, Just because you didn't think of asking doesn't mean I can't, and believe me when I say I know I would appreciate it more. Just have my douts about getting one. I also know it's never too late for anything but on the other hand; I would take the help.

lilbizzyazn, mor tan willing to help you, but not first, my idea of asking.

Vant, all true, but let me say, I can't afford the big money it takes to buy the car. But I could well afford everything else, gas, insurance and all else.

cacophoney, Good idea, will be ready to get mys2 at about on, lets say around when i'm eighty years old, probably wouldn't do manys donuts then, hmm.

i love the feeling you get when you work hard and can buy yourself something.. i'm only 20 and i waited long and hard and budgeted and planned and only when i was completely sure that i would be able to afford an s2k did i take the plunge.. $18640 plus tt&l for a MY00 with 30k miles (good deal from a dealer) and a $20000 loan @ 4.2% over 60 months made the sub $400 payments happen.. i definetely advise building credit

20k at 5.5 = 382.02 60 months, if you have a trade/down payment you can make that 36 or 48

i understand in your situation with children an s2000 may not be the best allocation of resources. A moded miata may give you as much pleasure as an s2000 w/out breaking the bank, GL
