GRAAAAAAAAAAA!! California and it's laws and politics!!! Moving there in a week and they have 2 license plates.............. I am going to go against the law (leave this post now, less u want to be an associate) and only use 1 plate. I mean c'mon!!! The front plate looks so LAME (imhhhhhhhhho) Anyone get sited by cops for not using it? Maybe I should stay in Michigan. oh wait....no.

 

I live in CA and have never had the front plate on. Never gotten a ticket for it, even when they nailed me for speeding. It's technically illegal but I think in most areas you won't get harassed for not having it.

 

I wouldnt worry about it too much.. There are plenty of us still waiting on dealer brackets for the front plate.. until then, we have no choice but to run without them.

I had a 3000GT before without a front plate and never got questioned about it. It would have been real tacky to add one, but the same holds true for the S2K. I've got one only because I made the mistake of buying it here.

 

I've gotten cited for having no front plate, but not on my S2 yet. I think they fine you like $75 and it increases if you're a repeat offender. I could be wrong.

 

I would gladly put a front license plate on mine if it allowed me to drive during the winter like in California,

...and have more then 20 nice sunny days a year like California
...and have pothole free roads unlike Michigan
...and have curvy roads like California

true it is illegal not to have a plate on the car. i guess it depends on the cop you meet. i have gotten at least over 6 tickets and not even once did a cop write me up for a no font plate ticket. Until one day i was in the cerritos area when i was sitting at a red light doing nothing and a motor chp officer decided to make a left turn he looked at my car and did a u turn and nailed me after i got the green reason no front plate and tinted windows. anyways put the front plate on temporarly and got it written off as a fix it ticket and then took the plate off again

all i have to say is i drove without a plate for 8 years w/o a problem and a met a punk chp officer obviously with nothing to do i guess it was just dumb luck.

msg to california highway patrol... instead of getting ppl at a red light for no front plate why don't you get the ppl that actually break a real crime!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I've seen people try to use the "waiting for brackets from the dealer..." or something like that and it doesn't work. For example, my friends Lexus SC300 did not come with a license bracket from the dealer and he got cited and the bad thing is he can't even buy a bracket so he had to have the dealer drill to fit one on. I think the ticket is $10, but you have to fix it and get it signed off my a peace officer (fix-it ticket).

 

how about if you are a cop can your car be without a front plate?humh will be one in about 6months.
