Default Door Dings...

Friday night after work I noticed a door ding on the passenger side of my car . Monday going to lunch there are two more dings on the driver side . I am so mad!!!! I have had this car for three moths!! The catch is that I park out yonder by nobody!! I asked the security to review the tape but they won't How much does it cost to get the dents fixed? The good news is that none of them affected the paint at all and they are really small. But it's my new 32000 dollar car that I work two weeks per moth to pay for I'm so mad!!!!!!

i had a couple of dings repaired using dentless paint repair... they cost me about $40-50 each (depending on how easy they were to access).

you can't even tell they were there...

i've heard stories of the paint cracking around the location of the dings in the years to come, but have seen nothing yet... (it hasn't been but 5 or so months)... mine were fairly small, but noticable dings... and if the paint does crack, i'll worry about repainting then... repairing the ding w/o dentless repair would have meant painting anyway.

get some references though on who does the work though, as there's always the possibility that the guy could be a hack.

I just don't understand what's wrong with people in this country (and maybe elsewhere in the world). If you park next to people, you get people that don't have respect of other people's property and couldn't care less if they hit your car. So me, I try to park a good distance away... But, then you get the people that like to drive aimlessly though the parking lot, and my favorite, the people who specifically park their piece of trash next to your car when you've purposefully parked a good distance away. It's kinda like "hey, this person parked far away to park their prized possession, so I'm going to SHOW THEM, and park right next to them. And maybe I'll even whack their car!"

@$$HOLES!!! I'll do what I can to protect my car, you stay the hell away.

There's nothing more annoying than parking beyond far away somewhere, only to come back & see that some moron in a rusted-out '82 Sentra decided to park riiiiiiiiiight next to you. You know what I mean.....about 4 inches over the white line on your side of the spot!

Unfortunately, common courtesy isn't taught anymore in the vast majority of the US.

I'm really sorry about that. It upsets me greatly when I get them. I've find two very shallow ones on both of my rear quarters. Most people would probably not even see them, but I know they're there. The lack of respect for other people's property simply astounds me.

One time (true story), my wife and I went to the bank. We were in her brand new RSX. I was waiting in the car and she went inside. A white Corolla parks next to me, the lady gets out and bangs the $hit out of my car door. I got out of the car immediately and yelled, "God dammit!" (sorry to offend anyone with my comment, but I was very upset). I immediately check for damage while she is standing right there. She says, "Sorry." Like, oh, no big deal. Then her teenage son gets out of the car. I look at him like, "What the hell are you going to do?" If he had looked at me in even the slightest way that displeased me, I probably would have beaten his a$$ right there. I'm not normally like this, but the things that piss me off the most are the things that take only a SLIGHT AMOUNT OF COURTESY AND RESPECT, BUT STILL GO IGNORED, AND THUS MY PROPERTY GETS DAMAGED.

There were two things that were very fortunate for all parties involved. It was a woman that dinged my door. If it was a man, I don't care if there was no damage, something would probably have happened. Sorry for the long post, but I feel very strongly about this (not door dings specifically, but the actions and attitude of people that cause them). Just a total lack of respect for someone elses property.

I recently got most of my door dings out of my doors and don't ask how but I had two dings in my trunk, from a paintless dent repair guy, he did really well and there were only a few more on the car that would require drilling into the panel or etc and one on my fender, but anyway, now that I was pretty happy with a only a few minor dings of course two days ago at the mall, I parked in almost the last parking spot that was far from the mall, but being Christmas the whole lot is full. I got back to my car and me and my friend went to eat. Now at the restaurant I double parked because hardly anyone was there, then when I come out from eating, I immediately notice in my quarter panel above my wheel a big white spot and the grand canyon of door dings, I had a few choice words and cussed nearly the entire rest of the day thinking of how inconsiderate people are and I swear they do it on purpose just because I have a nice car sometimes. I had to throw in my rant too since im pissed about mine. It must have happened at the mall when I was parked.

Sorry to hear about everyone's incidents. I, myself, have a couple of these on my car, especially during the holidays when it's crowded where ever you go. Anyways, I've learned my lesson and put my precious at home and take the beater wherever I go, and guess what, it still got slammed and scraped everywhere. Well, you can't teach everyone to be cautious of other people's property all the time.
