I don't know exactly what to call it, but I have a trim like piece that covers the very outside of both my doors. My co-worker just picked up an 06 without them and I think it looks so much better. Do these just slide off with a little bit of force or is there a trick to em? I can take a picture if needed

 

Most door mouldings are held on with double sided tape, so I would assume you could take them off with a little efffort.

i think they have 3m adhesive on them. i put a pair in my miata before. it was so nice because the door edge lining didnt get scraped up if it hit the wall of my garage. but if there is resistance when you tug on it, then it probably has adhesive. if whoever did it knows what they're doing, the used 3m automotive adhesive to stick it on. if they didnt, good luck, i dont know if it might peel the paint if you pull it off. (hopefully not) but when you remove it, it'll probably leave a sticky residue, just buy a bottle of goo-gone from target and use that to take it off

thats right! actually a heat gun would do the job faster... and its only 20 bucks at autozone!

 

haha, yeah I took a look at it again and realized it was the 3m adhesive stuff. Sorry for the stupidity guys! I'll have to try the heatgun idea!

 

if you don't already own a heat gun, don't buy one for just this ---use a hair dryer--it'll take a little longer (maybe 8 minutes instead of 5) but it'll also be safer--most heat guns are over 800 degree even on their lowest setting which is really overkill on this type of job
