I noticed the other day on my GPW 2007 that the door handles seem to be a different shade of white. It is most noticeable in the sun. I searched and did not find anything regarding this issue? Is it normal for them to be different shades?

Yes. Take a closer look at your rear quarters and the bumper. The painted plastic to painted metal never quite matches. Its worse on the metallics. They have always been like this. No worries.

 

I was guessing that it was the difference in the base materials.

Yup... Jason would know since he sees it more than I do, but I've noticed that slight discoloration on Ap1s and Ap2s.... (actually, noticed it on NA1s as well)

 

its alot more noticeable on my rio than it was on my berlina

 

I try not to look at those areas.

 

Are mirrors the same material as door handles?

might be , they're plastic

 

its because they're made of plastic, i think theres a primer they use that makes the color a little different. not sure about that though
