Default door sill question

when i got out of my car the other day, i looked down and noticed that the metal door sill to the left of the driver seat that says s2000 was kinda bowed up on the outer edges of the metal part. kind of the frame of it was bowed in the middle, and i found that i could push down on it, but it wouldnt stay. i would say that it raised up about 1.5 cm. just out of curiosity, i checked the passenger one also and found that it was the same way. has anyone else noticed this problem? or is it supposed to be like this, and i just never noticed it? and if it is a problem, what are some possible solutions?

thanks

Take your doorsill off, the whole piece is only held on by nylon clips..the clips are in sliders, you've either lost one or more likely its under there not getting in the hole.

just pull up it pops off.

That piece is just riveted on. You might be able to bend it back in place, but I think that once you take it off, its a pain to put back.

If I had to guess, I'd say that one of the 2 brads that holds the plate in place is missing. The brads are circled in red below.

i checked the brads on one of the plates, they are both in place, it almost looks like they are too close together , for the plate to lay flat. if you look a the picture, it would be the bending on the side that goes in between the brads on the top and bottom, and it arches so the highest point is directly in between the brads . an example would be to take a playing card and hole it between your fingers on the top and bottom, and bend it that way.

What if you squeezed in some super glue type stuff between the metal plate and the plastic door sill and put a heavy bood on top over night and that should flatten the metal plate in place.
