Default door sills and scratches

I used to own a 04 s2000, and just recently bought an 08 Laguna blue (2 days old). It is in the shop today getting the rear spoiler, front spoiler, side strakes and alarm system put on.

my question is this: I am 6'3" (will be looking at mods to lower the seat) and on my 04, I had a problem with dragging my feet across the leath covered sill, resulting in ugly scratches.

While I try and be careful at all times, I will be forgetting. While my is new and a scratch virgin, I was wondering if anyone has come up with a good way to protect those leather sills, either by replacing them with metal, or some sort of clear plastic cover?

One further question: does the stock head unit come out the same as previous models? I am looking to add the ipod controller from USA Spec.

thanks in advance!

My '02 has plastic door sill covers, in fact I did not know any of them were leather covered. As far as the radio, yes I believe that all model years are removed the same way!

Thanks, I will see if they are still available. I wish I had the car so I could take a pic, but they are definitely leather covered.

me too, I don't really know the exact measurements of my height in foot. but in cm it is 178cm.. I like my seating position to be more forward so i dont have to really stretch my arms to grab the steering wheel. This causes my leg entry space to be small -_- and with the steering wheel blocking the upper part.

I am in the same boat with you, unfortunately I've already had like 6 scratches on my sill T_T. even though they are mainly visible in bright sunlight, under normal light conditions they are not that noticeable unless you look for it.

anyone else have a solution? chime in pls

Leather covered? I'm curious to see these pictures as well. My 01 and my 07 has a regular plastic door sill. You're talking about the piece along the bottom of the door opening that also has the metal S2000 logo, right?

it would be the piece nearer the interior of the car from the logo portion. If you open the door you see the lower area with the s2000 metal logo, then a slight vertical increase of 1/2 inch and then the real sill begins. This sill starts at the junction of the dash and goes to the back of the seats and is covered in leather.

See image, blue box area is what I am referring to..not my car, just one off the internet.

The only door sill protection I have seen i for the part further out towards the edge, which is painted. I am trying to find something to protect the leather portion.

Did they upgrade it to leather for '08?
