Default Doors Sound cheap when its closed...

When I close the door, passanger or driver the door doesnt sound sturdy, like no solid clunk sounds like one of those cheap cars. I remember when my car was new it sounded nice like a solid clunk when closing. Now it just sounds like alot of loose things.. Any of you guys know what im talking about or how to fix it?

I agree, i had a bmw before the S. Every time i close the bimmer's doors its nice and quite, nice clean shut, but the S does sound cheap when the doors close...as if its always being slammed or something. I dunno, it doesn't bother me that much but i do notice it. If anyone says anything just look at their tach and tell them that you can at least hit 9K on your tach and they tend to stay quite.

Remember the car also weighs 2800lbs. I bet dynamat would help relieve some of the tinnyness of the door sound. But that also adds weight.

The sound of our door closing has always bothered me too.

I'd much rather have it make a nice dull thud than the hollow sound I'm hearing.

I still love the car though!

Just the other day, a friend commented about the sound of the S2000 door closing sound. He said, "Sounds like a Fiat." I pointed out that I close the doors the same way I close Fiat doors (very gently), and that they don't sound that way if you just push them closed.

Don't slam them, and things won't rattle.

Every door that has pillar-less glass sounds like crap when closing.
