Doug Demuro's s2000 score...
The cliche that you only get one time to make a first impression holds true. This is really an impression, not a review, and certainly valuable in that respect. I can forgive the "rear heat."
"maybe if that thing [VTEC] came on at 4000rpm."

I always close the video when he gets to the scoring part it feels like padding for his videos. I was also disappointed he missed quite a bit on the S2000. He does look at some interesting cars though so I usually watch the ones about the weirder or more exotic stuff he looks at.
I actually think his review was spot on - especially when you don't watch or take into consideration his "score". Much of his impressions were the same as mine when I first drove the S2000.
As for his actual scores... I think a low "features" score is actually why many people buy the car which in my mind for this type of car the lower the "features" score the better. Same goes for "practicality" - though I will say I find this car much more practical than the 78' MBG I drove around during my teens.

^That's a nice rating system. I agree about the public visiblity. My vette gets noticed by more of a wider population and the s2k only gets noticed mostly by solid enthusiast. During the time the lotus was going for similar price point. I went for the s2000 to actually be under the radar over the lotus so it's all good.
Not a week goes by when someone doesn't give me thumbs up or yell out "nice car."
As far as practicality goes, I agree with Mr. Funk. This car is waaaay more practical than the Austin Healy Sprite I drove in my 20s. But, I didn't buy either car for its practicality.

and didn't know Jeremy Clarkson championed the S2000 might rewatch some old top gear to see some of that affirmation ha. Also I think all forms of roadsters in general are disliked in the states.
