The Dragon Rules!
I met a buddy of mine from Georgia at Deals Gap last Saturday for our first experience with The Dragon....WOW! We had a great time. It was pretty damp in the morning which made it even more fun. My friend has a CRX with one of those Japanese market 160hp DOHC VTEC motors in it. We got in 6-7 runs and swapped cars for a run or two. That little CRX is pretty damn strong. As the track...err.. road dried, we made another run and had to head home; leaving the dragon in the hands of numerous sport bikers waiting for dry conditions.
Yep,a public road. It is an 11 mile stretch with over 300 turns including a bunch of hairpins. There are no driveways or intersections. It has a posted speed limit of 45mph, which is very liberal! The locals told us that if you keep it under control, in your lane and under 45mph, the cops pretty much leave you alone. Hard to believe isn't it?
Sondra, you know he got nailed just to make an example out of someone. I have done the Dragon on 3 separate occasions and I have NEVER seen cops like that hanging out waiting. They knew that we were coming and that we were there and Keith took the fall for us, which we have on video tape!

Somebody should submit the picture where we are all standing in front of our cars at the lake on the Tennesse side of the Dragon. I think "Ass man" probably has a few good pics at that location-- after all he made to a pretty good position just to take the pic.
I would cut and paste, and email them the picture,(I didn't take any pics during s2kdays
).
I think whoever took the picture should get the credit though... there is an email address at the link that Greg S. posted.
Hey Ass man I think you should email them the pic. What do ya say? Maybe they will use it for more than just a archive photo.

No offense but you guys on the east coast must really be hard pressed for good road.....the "Dragon"? We hit one several here a few weeks ago, all be it only 8 miles long....short ny local standards. As the snow melts there are tons of roads just like this one, we call it "SnowBasin Road". No need for such a fiecrce name as "The Dragon" as there are tons of roads around here with "300 turns and hairpins"......plus we have cliffs for a little extra pucker factor
